If you have had the opportunity to be treated at our Pritchette Physical Therapy Foothills location, you may have met one of the most well known physical therapists in Phoenix Metro area, Mitch Bruning, PT. Pritchette Physical Therapy has a long history with Mitch, that goes back to the days when Dr. Keith Pritchette, PT, DPT was pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Mitch Bruning was a co-founder of Rehab Plus , with another familiar face in the Sports Performance world, Warren Anderson, MS, CSCS. Rehab Plus developed a reputation as a premiere Sports Performance and Sports Physical Therapy location in Phoenix. Dr. Pritchette began his physical therapy career, performing his clinical rotation, under the supervision and mentorship of Mitch. This is when it was clear that Dr. Pritchette and Mitch Bruning had a similar approach and philosophy to their physical therapy care. Mitch says, “Keith was a very good student and excellent therapist”.
When Keith graduated in 2003 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, he accepted a position with Rehab Plus, which furthered his growth and desire to launch his own practice. Mitch states, “It was clear very early on that Keith wanted to open his own clinic and we fully supported him in that pursuit”.
In 2009, Dr. Pritchette opened Rehab Plus Ahwatukee (now Pritchette Physical Therapy) just a few doors down from our current location at Warner and 48th Street. “I wanted to take the Rehab Plus approach to care and meld it with some of my ideas, to provide the best physical therapy in Ahwatukee. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the support of Mitch and Warren”, says Keith. In 2009, Rehab Plus of Ahwatukee was awarded “Best New Business”, by Ahwatukee Foothills News.
Through the years Dr. Pritchette and Mitch bounced business ideas and shared resources to help each other grow. With the sale of Rehab Plus Phoenix location, Mitch Bruning decided to continue as a coverage physical therapist for local physical therapy offices.
With the amazing growth of our Pritchette Physical Therapy Ahwatukee Foothills clinic, we were in a search to bring on another physical therapist to support Dr. Sarah Thompson. So here we are today, full-circle, with Mitch Bruning, PT providing care at our Ahwatukee Foothills location. “We are so fortunate to have a physical therapist of Mitch’s caliber on our team”, says Keith.
Mitch says, “I am happy for Keith and Sarah (Dr. Sarah Thompson, PT, DPT) and the team atmosphere they have created. The support staff I have surrounding me here are very good.”
